Hidayat Adams
Hidayat Adams was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa in the suburb of Grassy Park. At an early age, he fell in love with reading, especially comic books and mystery novels such as The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. His love for reading and books eventually led him to the path of becoming an English teacher, a career he feels he was born to follow. As he so often quips, “I was born to teach, as my name means ‘guidance’ or ‘instruction’.”

Chicken Feed
Bertie was furious. No. Enraged. Yes, she felt that was a more appropriate word for her emotional state. Mightily enraged! And it was all Rose’s fault. “I warned you not to listen to Leonard’s preposterous promises, didn’t I?” she asked-shouted at the younger Rose...
Are They Truly Stars?
Celebrities have such a huge influence on our lives that many actors have come to think of themselves as untouchable, perfect and irreproachable. In reality, they are only human beings who bleed when they are cut, to borrow a line from Shakespeare. Their arrogance has...
The Idiots
GADIJA “In the sixty-three years that I’ve been alive,” I was telling Gadija Gabier while both of us were waiting to get our monthly health check-up at the day hospital, “I’ve had the dubious pleasure of meeting some of the dumbest people ever to walk this planet.”...
The Hunted
Bradley was gasping for breath, his lungs feeling as if they were about to burst. He cursed with feeling. “I should have kept up with my exercises. I’m running for my life, and I can’t even breathe properly!” he chided himself mentally, using the F-word freely. He had...
The Cultivator
Warrick had seen the homeless man a number of times before in the area. Usually, the vagrant would be pushing a trolley filled to overflowing with various bits of other people’s garbage, veritable treasures to him. Until that morning, that fateful morning of heavy...
